Introduction To GIS 

Basic principles of geographic and land information systems and their use in spatial analysis and information management. Wi Qtr. 3 cl, 1 3-hr lab. Prereq: Sr standing. Not open to students with credit for Geog 685; or 607 in Civil En, Geod Sci, Geog, Geol Sci, or Nat Res. Cross-listed in Civil Engineering, Geodetic Science, Geography, Geological Sciences, and Natural Resources.

 Physical Elements of Urban Development

Physical components of urban areas; residential, commercial, industrial, pedestrian, and vehicular circulation; other community facilities; analysis of design criteria and standards. Not open to students with credit for 845.

Regional Planning Studio

Application of economic and environmental analysis to regional development projects. Prerequisite: 753 or 755 or permission of instructor. Repeatable to a maximum of 10 cr. hrs.

Land Use, Environmental Quality, and Regional Analysis in City and Regional Planning

Using computer models to estimate environmental impacts of major developments.  Students use simulation programs for water runoff, water quality, air quality, and other environmental impacts to evaluate development alternatives.  Prerequisite:  CRP 722 or permission of instructor
